Cape Verde Islands


 Every island is different. Discover your favourite!

The Cape Verde islands can be divided into two separate groups of islands:
The northern islands called "Barlavento" ("islands above the wind") and the southern islands "Sotavento" ("islands under the wind"). Only 9 of the 15 islands are inhabitated permanently.

The cultural diversity is very particular for Cape Verde. Also, the islands offer a unique variety of plants. Approximately 90 species of these only occur here. The landscape changes from barren to tropical green, from desert to mountains, from deserted to vivid. Due to the Creole mixture of the culture, you feel like being in Africa, Brazil and Portugal.
