When starting your trip from the Bay of Naples, you should definitely visit the famous islands of Capri and Ischia, or alternatively set course to the Pontine islands.
In Capri you can explore many grots (the most famous one is the blue grot). The island is green all year long and it has many breathtaking sceneries, like the Faraglioni rocks, to offer.
However, Ischia is also an eye catcher! With the fortress Castello Aragonese and the Giardini la Mortella you have a lot to do on this beautiful island! Enjoy some coffee on the fortress and wander around the gardens.
Another possibility is to sail alongside the stunning coast line south of Naples when heading towards Salerno (Amalfi). The rugged landscape and the colourful houses will definitely stay in your mind.
Vibo Valentia or Tropea are perfect starting points for a trip to the Liparic islands. Also highly recommendable is a visit to the crater of the active vulcano Stromboli.
