Charter Cape Verde
Charter your yacht on the Cape Verde Islands
Welcome to Cape Verde! Approx. 800 nautical miles south of the Canary Islands and 400 nautical miles west of the African coast a sailing area of superlatives awaits you! Since 2005 we are represented in the Marina Mindelo for the yacht charter on the Cape Verde Islands, with our own ships and German base. Here you will find a year-round area without hurricanes. If you are looking for the original, then this is the right place for you.
The sailing area of Cape Verde
Sailing on Cape Verde is open Atlantic sailing with partly short, but also with longer sailing distances. The islands are divided into two groups: The northern islands of Barlavento ("islands above the wind") and the southern islands of Sotavento ("islands below the wind"). Only 9 of the 15 islands are permanently inhabited! Extensive sandy beaches can be found mainly on the flat east islands, as well as on Sao Vicente. Behind the beaches there are dunes and salt marshes. You will find a wide variety of plant species, about 90 of which are found nowhere else in the world. The uninhabited island of Santa Luzia has miles of lonely sandy beaches. If you are planning a longer stay, you must sail south to the island of Fogo. The visit of the 2.728m high volcano is a must, not only for hikers. Only about 10 nautical miles away lies the completely opposite island Brava, which is also known as flower island. Very interesting video contributions about the islands you can find HERE.
Best time to charter a yacht or catamaran in Cape Verde
All year round our sailing yachts and catamarans for self-drive as well as sailing yachts with guide or skipper are at your disposal.
In summer the wind conditions are very moderate with 2-4 Bft., so if you like less wind, you should sail on the Cape Verde Islands in summer. Book well in advance as only part of our fleet is available in summer.
