Yachtinvest Charter management
become the owner of a Yacht!
Owning your own yacht in one of the many beautiful sailing areas on this planet is surely the dream of every sailor!
However, there are often obstacles between this dream and reality, such as yacht financing, high maintenance costs, no time for service, etc ...
With our Yachtinvest purchase charter system (also called charter purchase) we can offer you a simple solution to these problems!
how does it works
You buy your yacht through us and we can also offer you suitable financing through one of our partners. In addition to new yachts but of course also used boats from our offer are possible!
We charter your yacht for you in the time when you do not use it yourself.
The breakdown of the charter income and the costs incurred is specified in a care contract. This care contract can be concluded for a period of 1 year (with option for automatic renewal) up to 10 years. Other systems with included financing are also possible. We take care of all matters relating to your ship, from the equipment, transport and commissioning, procurement of all necessary papers for chartering, insurance, berth, etc ... to a any sale of the vessel at the end of the chartering.
Your yacht is looked after by us professionally all year round, you do not have to worry about anything. So you do not waste your valuable holiday time for repairs, cleaning and the like.
The "ideal" charter yacht for Yachtinvest / purchase charter should have a low purchase price, low maintenance costs, a high acceptance by the charter customers over the whole (!!) chartering time and achieve a good resale value.
Of course, there is no yacht that meets all these criteria perfectly, the yacht selection is thus always a compromise of these factors. Also the size / number of cabins as well as the planned use of the yacht after the chartering (only private use, sale, etc ...) must be included in these considerations.
There is also no shipyard that leads such an extensive range of models to always have the right yacht. That's why good, unbiased advice is very important. Give us a call and tell us your ideas and wishes. We advise you on the advantages / disadvantages of the various types of ships, yards, districts, etc ...!
A very important point in the selection of the yacht is also the resale value. Without a good resale of the second-hand yacht the cheapest purchase price is of no use. This point neglect many interested parties, since a low purchase price is often very tempting. The resale is usually in the hands of the owner and thus the owner bears this risk completely alone!
A frequently asked question is whether a second hand yacht is also possible in this system. This depends heavily on the year of construction, but also the type of yacht and the size. Even the area can have an influence on it. For example, e.g. in Croatia and various other areas the registration for the charter with relatively high one-off costs. For a 5-6 year old yacht, therefore, a complete re-submission for the charter could not be worthwhile, as these costs can only be transferred to a few years.
But again and again we have second-hand boats from our Croatian charter fleet, which of course already have all the necessary papers for the charter business and thus accounts for this registration costs. If you are interested in a used yacht, you will find our current used boat list here. Some of these ships can also be taken over with existing financing! Interesting for a used yacht but above all a station on the Cape Verde be, because the year of construction does not matter so much.
Through our many years of chartering, we have a dense network of partner companies in all sailing areas worldwide. Thus, we can also offer you yachting in many other areas (eg Turkey, Spain, Italy, Caribbean, South Seas -Tahiti, Seychelles, Thailand) for Yachtinvest / Purchase Charter. Of course, then we take over in this case, the chartering, control of billing, spare parts procurement etc ...
How many years a yacht can stay in the charter depends very much on the size / number of cabins, type (= quality) and the area. The demand of charter customers on older ships is also dependent on the yard! In our experience, a calculation period of 6-8 years should be used. For large monohulls (50 feet) and for cats, a slightly longer calculation period of up to 10 years can be calculated. We are happy to inform you about a reasonable planning of the charter period for your desired yacht size / type for our yacht investment / purchase charter program.
In the Mediterranean, the maximum attainable is about 26 to 28 weeks, depending on the size of the ship and z.T. Equipment (heating, radar, etc ...). There are years when such maximum workloads can be achieved. However, using these capacities for calculating the return over a longer period of time would not be serious. We base our calculations on average utilization in recent years. Depending on the type of ship, size and number of cabins, these are 18 to 22 weeks.
On the Cape Verde can be chartered all year, which makes much longer utilization possible. In peak periods, 40 to 45 weeks have already been achieved, but you can expect an average load of 30-34 weeks!
With the purchase of the ship you acquire property, which is registered in a ship register. Your investment is covered by a fully comprehensive insurance, which of course also covers the charter risk.
A well-maintained charter yacht is usually in a better technical condition at the end of the yacht invest / buy-charter period than many private yachts of the same age! This may sound contradictory at first, but on closer inspection this is easy to explain: The technology (instruments, etc ....) is as much burdened by long periods of standing as by frequent use (corrosion, condensation, encrustation by salt, "Möwendreck", etc ...) Since the use of private yachts is not very intense, any defects usually occur only after the expiry of the warranty / guarantee period. This can lead to repairs after several years, some of which are very expensive can (motor, gearbox, etc ...) On charter yachts such problems are detected early by the longer use and by the professional service and still within the warranty period fixed.
By well-trained staff, who take care of the yachts all year round (also in winter) and by good technical equipment of our bases (machines, spare parts ....), we can secure the value retention of the yachts entrusted to us also over many charter years.
Larger damage is rare on our charter yachts! Most insured events involve "damage to the park", and therefore things that can easily be repaired and that can also occur on a purely privately used yacht.Of course, deductions from the deposit also occur on our ships, this usually applies to lost equipment (fenders, etc.). ..).
Almost all of our charter customers treat their yacht as if it were their own. It would be very stupid of a charter crew not to do so, they risk their own vacation! A further and simple measure to get "good" charter customers is the price level and the deposit .. Comparisons with other charter companies have shown that with a cheap charter price and / or no deposit deposit also increases the frequency of damage.
A yacht that is chartered, of course, used for a year longer than a private yacht. The essential parts of a good yacht (hull, deck, rigging, technology) are charged by the charter operation but hardly more than a private yacht! The greater wear especially concerns easy-to-replace parts, such as e.g. Upholstery and the like. Therefore, in the Mediterranean also a year-round care of the yachts is very important, as many "cosmetic work" such as sanding and repainting the furniture can only be done properly in longer periods (winter) .This contributes significantly to the value of a ship, which then Deposits that, for reasons of cost, only employ your employees seasonally, will not have adequate staff available for this work.
