Sailing on the Cape Verde Islands

Cabo Verde: Every island is different, discover your favourite one!

Sailing on the Cape Verde Islands is an insider tip for any sailor looking for authenticity. The islands are divided in 2 groups: the northern islands "Barlavento" and the southern islands "Sotavento". Only 9 out of 15 islands are inhabitated permanently. You will find very interesting footage on the islands HERE .

Extensive sand beaches can mainly be found on the flatter islands in the East, as well as on Sao Vicente. Behind the beaches, you will find dunes as well as salt meadows. Also, a great variety of plants can be found here, 90 of which cannot be found anywhere else in the world. The uninhabitated island island St. Luzia will entice you with miles and miles of lonesome beaches.

In case you are planning a longer stay, you should definitely plan to sail to the south and visit the island of Fogo. Visiting the 2.728 m high vulcano is a Must Do, not only for people who like hinking. Only approx. 10 sea miles away, you can visit the island Brava, which is completely the opposite and is also known as the flower island.
